Mamedyarov’s victory over Maxime Vachier-Lagrave gave the match point to Azerbaijan.
It’s certainly a big deception for the French who dominated the Armenians yesterday.

Russia was very close to a loss against china. Kramnik had a nice position against Wang Hue and finally almost lost the game. Grischuk can be happy too with a draw after having two pawns down against Ding Liren.

Magnus Carlsen has brought the only full point of the match Norway-Poland, with a very nice combination against Wojtaszek.

Only 3 teams have now a perfect score with 8/8 : Azerbaijan, Serbia and Bulgaria.

In the next round, Azerbaijan will face Serbia, and Russia will meet Bulgaria. Will Kramnik play Topalov??
