Sinquefield Round 4 : Caruana in stellar orbit

Fabiano Caruana is about to collide with the moon...
With a perfect score after 4 rounds in such a tournament, we can say that Caruana is a leader in a pure Fischer's style... The world champion is already 2,5 points behind...
A second tournament is about to start : the fight for the second place...
Carlsen "Fabiano is landing on the moon..."
Topalov "Nooo???"
Caruana 1-0 Aronian
MVL ½-½ Nakamura
Carlsen ½-½ Topalov

- Sinquefield Round 3 : Caruana Big Boss after defeating Carlsen -

3/3! Fabiano couldn't hope for a better start...
Nine games and only three draws for the time being. What a start !
What to say about the performance of the italian GM? Amazing ! For the time being, it is just perfect.
Caruana is already 2 points ahead of the world champion and solidly installed on the second rank in the live rating with 2815... Amazing...

Sinquefield Round 2 : Caruana & Aronian winners of the day.

Don't worry... It will be an easy draw with black

Caruana 1-0 MVL
MVL has been quite unlucky by falling into a great preparation from Caruana. This one prepared this line few months ago for Mamedyarov. Bad luck for Maxime.

Aronian 1-0 Topalov
Aronian choose a complicate line with an exchange sacrifice. Topalov strangely choose to castle under fire and then quickly collapse... A very bad start of tournament for the bulgarian player.

Nakamura ½-½ Carlsen
Carlsen unusual - as usual - opening leaded to a tense middle game, where black, by giving a pawn, had some initiative. The world champion choose a perpetual line to get a quit easy draw. Now Carlsen will have white two times in a row.

The greatest tournament ever !?

The « greatest tournament ever » takes place in the famous Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint-Louis, Missouri, from August 27th to September 7th.
It’s strange to me to qualify a tournament to be the « greatest ever » without any Kasparov, Karpov or Fischer… Carlsen may be, by far, the best current player in the world, he cannot be compared - for the time being - to the greatest chess legends…
But Ok.. it’s an ELO point of view (Cat.23, 2804 avg ELO). So let’s call it like that…
